Jump’s Roller Inn Cafe was a skating rink/dance hall that operated in Fairfax from 1946 to 2011, operated by three generations of the Jump family. It was widely recognized as one of the best steakhouses in the state, and at its heyday, would regularly draw a crowd of more than a thousand people to listen to live music performances.
In the 1940’s and 50’s, Jump’s became “an obligatory stop for a country music tour” and often hosted some of the biggest names in country music at the time including: Conway Twitty, Merle Haggard, Bob Wills, Jerry Lee Lewis, and many others. Fans came from miles around, even driving in from Tulsa, more than an hour away. “We could really pack them in,” owner Mary Jo Hendrix said to a Tulsa World reporter. “Jump’s was the place to be."
